Parent and Tot is a program developed to encourage the learning process between parent and child while providing activities and crafts that help to teach about the animal related topics. Each session includes multiple activities that are self directed. They encourage parent/child bonding, are self-paced and are developed to take advantage of the learning abilities of children in this age group (seeing and touching). Each session of Parent and Tot also includes poem/story time and an opportunity to meet an animal and its keeper. This program occurs entirely indoors and does not include any guided tours through the Zoo. Parent will engage their children in participating in the activities. Parents will use the provided information to assist them in teaching their child about the specific topic. Parent attendance and participation is required for all Parent and Tot programs.
