(Up to 30 students – 75 minutes). For many ESL students, studying Shakespeare is a daunting and seemingly impossible task. In this workshop, our specially trained actor/teachers work to connect students to the rhythm, images and broad thematic ideas found in Shakespeare’s works. These workshops are fun and participatory, and give ESL students the tools to overcome many of the challenges associated with studying Shakespeare’s plays and language.

In this groundbreaking program, a professional actor/teacher performs key speeches from one of our focus plays, and leads students through text analysis and fun, lively workshop activities. The program is designed to prepare students for oral presentations, speeches and debates, as well as dramatizations of scenes and monologues. Students will gain a better understanding of Shakespeare’s themes, characters and language, and will learn how to create effective performances for their syllabus.
