We offer a wide range of courses during the fall, winter and spring. Preschool Arts, After School & Saturday Arts Programs and Adult Arts Programs all happen under the same roof. We provide special programs and camps during the March Break and Summer periods, as well as innovative and creative Outreach Programs and Professional Development Workshops.

  • ARAS Musical Theatre Company Grades 7-12, by audition

    This is a class for students who are serious about learning the skills required to perform in musical theatre. Singing, voice work, choreography, movement, improvisation and character development will be incorporated in this performance-based class designed in a professional, company setting format. This is a yearlong program with the cast working on two productions at a professional theatre venue. One on one singing/music coaching as well as choral work will be part of the program. Costumes, set, props are part of each performance and students will be expected to attend extra blocking, dress and technical rehearsals. Students may choose to register for the full year and participate in both shows or registration will also be accepted for one production alone. Students must request an audition if new to the program.

Zines (short for “fanzines” or “magazines”) are self-published booklets about any subject that interests you. Now you can be a published music fan, movie reviewer, poet, sports writer, comic book or portrait artist or anything else you can think up. Zines truly allow for freedom of expression and freedom from conventional rules. Zine-making is a fantastic outlet for kids and teens. It allows for creative expression and will help kids think critically about pop culture and the world around them. Students will write using many different styles of writing, draw, sketch, illustrate, collage and use photographic images to create their personal and unique zines. Once completed, students will design covers for their projects, and bind all the printed documents into individual zines. The class will culminate in a final class ‘Zine Trade Show’, where friends and family will be invited to view the zines created in class.
