At the end of the camp there will be a viewing and a private link to their movie on YouTube. CUBIST CREATIONS: PM Session: 1-3:30 Students get a chance to try their hand at sculpture, painting and collage as they explore the fascinating world of Cubism and artists like Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Juan Gris. PICASSO IN BLUE AND ROSE: AM Session 8-12 years old 8-12yrs am Instructor: Mike Goodge This course covers the work of Pablo Picasso during the Blue and Rose Periods when he became intrigued and exhilarated by the members of the Medrano Circus. Capture their agility, courage, and lively spirit as you learn about why Picasso devoted so much time to the study of this subject matter. Students will make drawings, paintings and 3D constructions of circus characters and animals including the Acrobat, Harlequin, Jester, horses and monkeys. STOP MOTION ANIMATION WITH OIL ON GLASS: PM Session 1-3:30 Painting with oil on glass animation is a technique for making animated films and artworks by manipulating paint on sheets of glass. This is done in two forms by creating realistic paintings and abstract paintings. The most well-known practitioner of the technique is Russian animator Aleksandr Petrov.

FESTIVE MASQUERADE: AM Session 9:30-noon Through Mardi Gras Carnival themes and the Commedia dell’ Arte masks, a masquerade for all the senses will be explored in both English and French. The characters of ancient Italy will come alive and take on a new guise. The historical masks and their nomadic legacy will take us into a time capsule to France and back to the future to New Orleans during the Mardi Gras festival. The ancient characters of the Harlequin and Pierrot will endlessly evolve and transform into contemporary pranksters. Our faces and bodies will dance, mime, and come alive through tableaux vivant.
