This Special Needs Workshop will be lead by Angie Continisio, owner and founder of Kids Butterfly Yoga and exclusive certified YogaKids Teacher and Jaime Moar, exclusive Yoga for the Special Child Licensed Practitioner. Together, they will assist parents to discover the many ways that yoga can promote the healthy development of children, ages 4-16. Find out how the practice of yoga parallels and supports other therapeutic modalities in addressing difficulties with attention, self-regulation, speech and language, learning, and high and low muscle tone.
The studio works with individuals or groups of "higher functioning" children with special needs, who are essentially "physically able". Basic information will be provided during the workshop to assist participants in understaning the creative, developmentally appropriate, fun ways that the practice of yoga can engage and support children with special needs.
