Established in 1963, the Stewart Hall Art Gallery is a municipal art gallery located in the Cultural Centre of the city of Pointe-Claire. The mandate of the Gallery is to present high quality exhibitions of historical and contemporary art that reflect the diverse nature of the West Island and Montréal communities. The Gallery features travelling exhibitions of collections from museums across Canada, the United States, and around the world, as well as works by both emerging and established Québec and Canadian artists. The exhibitions are held on a six week rotating schedule throughout the year, and offer an exploration into a wide variety of themes and media, including painting, prints, photography and sculpture. As part of the Cultural Centre, the Gallery has the opportunity to reach a diverse public audience. Events such as «La journée de la culture», «Cultural Rendez-vous» and «Montréal Museums Day» help people of all ages focus on art and cultural activities.
