OCTOBER 5-16, 2011 The Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC) is an organisation devoted to the promotion of organ music and works in collaboration with various organisations of the organ world to fulfill its mission. In Montreal every three years, the CIOC presents an international competition open to organists of all nationalities under 35 years of age. Sixteen organ virtuosi perform for a jury of nine internationally renowned specialists and compete for major awards. In addition to the prize money, the top prizewinner receives a career development contract, a CD recording with ATMA Classique and recitals. These awards surpass the prizes of any of the world's organ competitions. CIOC 2011 will include some 40 activities including recitals, organ crawls, conferences, and master classes featuring 16 competitors, a prestigious international jury and guest artists. The dates for the the three rounds are: •1st Round: October 5, 6 & 7 at Immaculée-Conception Church •2nd Round: October10 & 11 at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church •Final Round: October 14 at Notre-Dame Basilica •Closing Gala: October 16, 2011, 19:30 at Notre-Dame Basilica.
