How to nurture a healthy body image for girls
Low self-esteem and an unhealthy body image are becoming more prevalent in young girls, and at a younger age, due to unrealistic expectations in the media. Up to 6th grade, it is said that families and siblings have the most influence over a child’s self-concept whereas once high school begins, their friends and peers take over. Make the most of this time by doing simple things that form the foundation of a healthy body image such as choosing the right foods and prioritizing physical activity.
