Autumn Lacing Project For Kids
Why Do Leaves Change Color? by Betsy Maestro is a wonderful book to read to children about what happens to leaves in Autumn as they change colors, and there are so many great activities to go along with the book, like this Leaf Lacing craft for kids. This fun fall craft activity helps build kids fine motor skills, which makes it a perfect craft for preschool and kindergarten children. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s practice our lacing skills!
Craft supplies you will need:
- Craft paper
- Hole punch
Have the children draw and cut out leaf from craft paper.
Next, using a hole puncher, help the children make holes, about 1-2 inches apart, around the edge of their fall leaf.
Then, have the children thread the wool through the holes.
Lastly, have the children practice tying knots and/or bows when they are through lacing.
And, voila, the children have now made a Fall Leaf Lacing craft! This fun autumn project is just perfect for a Fall theme unit! And, it’s great at providing children with fine motor skills practice.
